is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings. He completed his doctoral degree at Drexel University in Philadelphia and doctoral internship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH), he held staff psychologist positions at CVH and then Bridgewater State Hospital. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, MA.Â
Over the course of his training and employment, Dr. Burl has gained extensive experience in psychotherapy, forensic assessment, and supervision. As a psychotherapist, he has treated individuals in college counseling centers, medical centers, and psychiatric hospitals. As a forensic psychologist, he has conducted hundreds of forensic evaluations in the federal system, for numerous state courts, and at the request of attorneys. He has extensive experience as a supervisor and mentor, and he is the former Director of the Psychology Training Program at UMass Chan Medical School.
Dr. Jeffrey Burl is licensed in Massachusetts. He sees individuals in person who live in or near Worcester County, and he meets with clients online (virtually) who live farther away.
